At Bougainville College of Nursing, we are dedicated to providing excellence in nursing education and fostering the development of skilled, compassionate professionals who are well prepared to serve the healthcare needs of Bougainville and beyond. Welcome Message from the Chairlady

Welcome to Bougainville College of Nursing. As Chairlady, I am honored to support our mission of nurturing future healthcare professionals. Since the restoration of our college, I have worked closely with Principal Mrs. Celyn Tusalah and our dedicated staff to rebuild and strengthen our institution. Together, we have focused on academic excellence, practical training, and student development.

Our team is committed to maintaining the college as a center of excellence in nursing education, improving facilities, and ensuring our students have the resources needed for success. Through this collaboration, we aim to positively impact the healthcare sector in Bougainville and beyond.

Established: Before the Bougainville crisis, with a rich history of nursing education.
Closed and Destroyed: 1989, during the Bougainville crisis.
Re-established/Reopened: 2016 by Celyn Tusalah, and has been operating since then.
Accreditation: Initially accredited in 2016 and fully accredited in 2023 by the PNG Nursing Council.
Affiliation: Affiliated with Divine Word University (DWU) since 3rd December 2025, enhancing educational opportunities for students. Learn more →

Graduates: Serving across the Autonomous Region of Bougainville and throughout Papua New Guinea.

Bougainville College of Nursing currently offers a Diploma in General Nursing program. This comprehensive course provides students with essential knowledge, practical skills, and hands-on clinical experience to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate healthcare. The program is designed to meet the increasing demand for qualified nursing professionals in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville and across Papua New Guinea.
